A visa to Russia is a document that allows a citizen of a state with which the Russian Federation does not have a visa-free regime to enter Russia and stay on its territory for a certain period.

Foreigners, depending on the purpose of their trip to the Russian Federation, have the opportunity to apply for the main types of visas for themselves:

– Tourist (can be single or double for up to 3 months or multiple for up to 6 months);

A foreigner can get a tourist visa to Russia the easiest way. If you have such a visa, you can not only come to Russia for sightseeing, but also to visit a friend or relative living in Russia, take short-term courses or attend a seminar.

– Business (can be single or double for up to 3 months or multiple for up to 1 year);

A business visa to Russia is the most popular type of visa after a tourist visa. The visa is intended for a visit to Russia for business purposes. When applying for such a visa, there is no need to present documents about booking a room at a hotel or in a hotel.

– Private (can be single or double for up to 3 months or multiple for up to 1 year);

A private visa makes it possible to enter Russia to visit relatives or friends permanently residing in Russia.

– Working (multiple-entry visa for a period of 1 to 3 years);

A work visa is issued to foreigners to enter Russia and stay on its territory for a long time period for the sake of working in a Russian company as a highly qualified specialist. In the presence of such a visa, a foreign citizen has the right to stay continuously on the territory of the Russian Federation for the entire period of its validity.

To get a visa to Russia, a foreigner needs to apply to the Russian consulate, which is located in his country of residence. At the same time, the foreigner must present an invitation to Russia. The inviting party can issue an invitation for a foreigner (it can be an individual or an organization). The visa processing period is no more than 20 working days from the date of application of a foreign citizen.
