In Russia, foreign citizens of certain states can apply for a Single electronic visa. The number of European countries whose citizens have such a right includes Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and several others.
To obtain electronic visa, you do not need to receive invitations, hotel room reservations, and other documents that are attached to the set of documents for getting visa.
You can use a electronic visa to enter the Russian Federation for certain purposes: business, tourist visits, participation in economic forums, sports events. If you have a different purpose of staying in Russia, then it makes sense to apply for a standard (private, working) visa.
The electronic visa is valid for 60 days from the date of its issuance. A foreign citizen has the right to stay in Russia continuously for 16 days.
An application for an electronic visa can be submitted no earlier than 40 and no later than 4 days before the date of the intended trip, through the mobile application of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
The Regulations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia provide for a deadline for reviewing e-visa documents – no more than 4 days from the date of submission of the full package of documents.
If a positive decision is made on your application in the mobile application, your status will be updated “Processing completed”. It is recommended to print the visa or save the notification on your mobile device.
Now you can enjoy the beauty of Russia for more than two weeks.
Kind reminder due to the restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the issuance of electronic visas has been suspended, but after the situation normalizes, you will be able again apply for a visa to Russia through a mobile application.
