As part of the efforts of the Ministry of Education to improve the outcomes of education, provide school principals and all members of the school community; teachers, students and parents with national comparisons on students’ performance in national tests, and provide national benchmarking comparisons to interested parties, the Ministry issues annual reports on the results of students participating in the UAE national standardized tests “Enjaz” from April 2022.

The reports contribute to providing the school community with an overview of students’ performance in the UAE Standardized Tests in subjects of Arabic language, English language, mathematics and physics compared to the rest of the schools, through the percentages of school students participating in the tests (Percentile), as the 2nd percentile indicates a single-school student ranking compared to the rest of the schools, the 80th percentile in mathematics – for example – means that school students achieved higher than 80% of the rest of the schools in mathematics.

The reports also include the results of the Academic Strength Index, which ranges in value from 1% – 100%. The weighted average calculates the grades of the students who took the tests of four subjects: Arabic, English, Mathematics and Physics.

Compared to the overall average of students in the country, the school whose student results in the Academic Strength Index, for example was 70%, this indicates that the weighted average of the results of its students who took standard tests in Arabic, English, Mathematics and Physics are above 70% of the overall average of students in the country.

The reliability of the Academic Strength Index is determined by the school’s participation rating in the UAE standard tests, where schools are classified into two categories, the first main category and it represents schools where the number of students participating in the four tests as of the date of issuance of the report, was 20 students or more while the second subcategory represents schools whose number of students participating in the four tests as of the date of issuance of the report was below 20 students.

The UAE Standardized tests “Enjaz” is a national assessment system launched in 2017, whereby students undergo a series of national tests in multiple subjects before enrolling in higher education institutions. The results of these tests are used for purposes such as admission to higher education institutions, national benchmarking and improving the quality of education.
