Austrian and German businesses have invested more than $ 11 billion in Moscow’s economy, according to the website of the mayor of Moscow. Moscow retains its position as an investment-attractive metropolis. Austrian business remains one of the major foreign investors in the Russian capital – according to the Central Bank, as of April 1, 2021, Austrian companies accounted for about 1.4 percent of the total volume of accumulated foreign direct investment in Moscow, or 3.4 billion US Dollars. During the year, their volume increased by more than 200 million dollars.

At the same time, German participation in investments in the capital is more substantial and amounts to almost $ 8 billion. Germany is traditionally one of the largest foreign investors in Moscow: according to the Central Bank, as of April 1, 2021, Germany’s direct investments in Moscow amounted to 7.8 billion US dollars. Compared to last year, the volume increased by almost half a billion dollars.
